I am born and bred in Carnoustie, Scotland and have been playing golf for more than half of my life. I gained my first handicap of 32 at the age of 12 and this was where my obsession started. Every year I wanted to lower my handicap whether it be by a couple of shots or by 15. I decided I wanted to further my golfing career while still studying so I enrolled at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida in September 2005. I graduated in May 2009 with a bachelors degree in Business Management and four years of competitive golf under my belt. It was soon after I decided there was no time like the present and I turned professional on September 1 2009.
The first couple of years as a professional could be described as finding my feet in a new environment. Last year was my most successful, as I narrowly missed out on my Ladies European Tour card by a couple of strokes. I made 11 out of a possible 13 cuts, I had two top 5 finishes, three top 10s and three top 15s . My near miss last year has made me even more determined to achieve my goal in the 2013 season.
Away from golf I enjoy to spend my time with family and friends. I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by keeping fit. For the past year I have been working with Golf Fit Ltd. Alex Woods has been in charge of building a training program tailored to my specific golfing needs and generally improving my fitness.
I believe it is important to have a balanced life and therefore I still find time in my busy schedule to have fun and enjoy myself. I like to watch live music and comedy shows if I can find the time.
